FDA launches device reviewer certification program

The FDA has rolled out a program to require all new reviewers at the agency's device center to undergo 18 months of training, in an effort to cut premarket approval review times for medical devices. The program comes as the House Energy & Commerce Committee's health panel prepares to revisit the FDA's device and drug approval process in the fall.
