House Democrats map out proposals for spending cuts

House Democrats on the Ways and Means Committee proposed hundreds of billions of dollars in cuts for the congressional debt supercommittee to consider, which include raising the eligibility age of Medicare by two years (with the provision that the health care law remain intact), payment cuts to doctors and other providers, and extending prescription drug rebates for those eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.
