New Jersey rail-tunnel funds are redirected to roads, bridges

Funds that were allocated for New Jersey's canceled rail-tunnel project have been formally redirected to local road and bridge projects. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has agreed to move the $1.25 billion of largely toll-backed funding to the state's Transportation Trust Fund, which will pay for road and bridge repairs and transit services over the next five years.
