N.Y. project to test use of telemonitoring in diabetes care

HealtheLink, a health information exchange based in Buffalo, N.Y., has rolled out a pilot project to study the effects of telemonitoring on diabetes care. The 18-month pilot will measure whether a telemonitoring program can reduce the number of patient visits to emergency departments and primary care offices.
