Regulators expand inquiry into possible LIBOR manipulation

Regulators in the U.S. and elsewhere are broadening their inquiry into whether the London Interbank Offered Rate, or LIBOR, as well as the Tokyo version, TIBOR, were manipulated during the financial crisis. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is examining whether traders colluded with banks' treasury departments as they made bets on future currency rates, sources said.
