TSMC exec sees 14nm production at foundry in 2015

Shang-yi Chiang, senior vice president of research and development at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., said the silicon foundry will begin development of 14-nanometer process technology next year, with an eye toward volume production of 14nm chips in 2015. The world's largest foundry expects to make such chips on 18-inch silicon wafers, he added.
