Wal-Mart brings back layaway

Wal-Mart phased out its layaway program in 2006, citing diminishing demand, but the retailer is bringing it back next month to help cash-strapped consumers pay for their holiday shopping. Sears and Toys R Us brought back their layaway programs in recent years and found success among shoppers looking to cut their dependence on credit cards.
