August insured losses likely to hit $1B for U.S., Aon Benfield says

Insured losses are expected to total $1 billion following flooding, hail and wind damage in the U.S. last month, according to Aon Benfield. Tornadoes and storms in Colorado, Montana and Wyoming resulted in losses of more than $225 million, while bringing the Rim fire in California under control cost millions of dollars, the report said.
