The (other) Google veteran behind Instagram's ad push

Facebook-owned Instagram plans to begin selling ads during the next year and is working out how to integrate ads without disturbing users, said its director of business operations, Emily White, in this interview. White, a former Google employee who was hired and mentored by Facebook operating chief Sheryl Sandberg, is responsible for creating the service's ad model and meets regularly with major brands. "We want to make money in the long term, but we don't have any short-term pressure," White said.
