Wisconsin encourages students to go global with new certification

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction will roll out a new curriculum for high school students to earn a global studies certificate. Students in the program will complete four foreign language courses and take additional courses with a global focus. "What we're trying to do with this is focus more of our attention on a broader, international dimension," said Gerhard Fischer, international and world languages education consultant for the department.
