Indian researcher cites value of monoclonal antibodies

The head of India's Biocon research unit says monoclonal antibodies are becoming a critical tool in biochemistry, molecular biology and medicine, with wide applications in the treatment of cancer. Suryanarayan said antibodies represent one of the much-sought-after biological therapies, using the body's own defense mechanism to fight cancer.
