Airbus meeting with unions to find $1.4 billion in savings

Airbus plans to meet with European unions on Tuesday, possibly to discuss further restructuring measures designed to cut costs by $1.4 billion. The additional savings were necessitated by the weak U.S. dollar, which has fallen below the threshold envisioned by the original Airbus restructuring plan. Parent company EADS says a 1-cent change in currency value represents $100 million in operating income for the company.
