China needs $180 billion to rebuild after earthquake

Chinese officials estimate it will cost $244 billion to rebuild the Sichuan province in China after the devastating earthquake on May 12. The government plans to rebuild 12,000 schools and 31,700 miles of highways in the southwestern province, but needs an additional $180 billion to complete construction. China has received $8.7 billion in domestic and foreign donations, but only $3.9 billion of the funds have reached Sichuan.
