Report examines high rates of tobacco use among college students

An American Lung Association report found about one in five college students smoked cigarettes in 2006, which the group attributes in part to aggressive tobacco industry marketing on college campuses. The report calls on colleges and universities to ban smoking at all indoor and outdoor facilities, offices and dormitories, offer smoking-cessation programs, and provide more education on the harmful health effects of smoking.
