Going green from the ground up with eco-friendly grass

U.S. consumers are going green from hybrid cars to organic gardens, but some homeowners hesitate to replace a traditional lawn with eco-friendly varieties. "Grass is the biggest crop in the United States," says Debbie Cook of Greenscapes Massachusetts Coalition. This year, Whole Foods Markets began to carry Pearl's Premium Ultra Low Maintenance Lawn Seed, which grows more slowly than bluegrass and needs to be mowed only once a month.
