Russian oil exports passed Saudi production during second quarter

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is taking advantage of OPEC members' oil-production cutbacks to gain market share, prompting Russia to pass Saudi Arabia in exports for the first time since before the Soviet Union collapsed. Second-quarter Russian exports rose to 7.4 million barrels a day, while Saudi exports fell to about 7 million.
