Study: Obese women with colon cancer are at higher risk of dying

Obese postmenopausal women with colon cancer were 45% more likely to die from all causes than their normal-weight counterparts, data on more than 1,000 women showed. The study also found a higher risk of death from colon cancer in women with a waist size of 37.5 inches or higher compared with those who had a healthier waist size.
