Adopted children are more prone to attempt suicide in adolescence

The rate of suicide attempts by the age of 18 among adopted children was 3.7 times higher compared with peers raised by their biological parents, according to a study published in the journal Pediatrics. Before taking into consideration mental health and environmental factors, the likelihood of attempting suicide was about 4.2 times greater among adopted children.
