As baseball fans go social, franchises follow suit

Baseball fans are heading to social media sites to trade zingers and trash talk ahead of big games, and teams are paying attention. Social media users aren't a major source of revenue for baseball teams, but that's expected to change in future. "That's where the fans, certainly a lot of young fans, hang out. And while they might not be fans who are spending a lot of money right now, we think down the road they will be," says Bob Bowman, CEO of Major League Baseball's Advanced Media division.
