Almost seven out of 10 Americans think their country is undergoing a crisis of leadership, according to the National Leadership Index. That suggests we should stop using the word "leader" so freely, instead applying it only when people deserve it, argues Eric McNulty. "No matter what you call yourself, you aren't leading if no one is following. Leadership is as much about followers as it is about who they follow; it is in their power to anoint a leader," he writes.
