Rep. John Carney, D-Del., is working on a housing finance reform bill that is similar to the plan by Sens. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., and Mark Warner, D-Va., and it is getting the attention of some in the GOP. Reps. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., and Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., are also working on alternative plans, and freshman Rep. John Delaney, D-Md., is pondering introducing a plan of his own in the fall. The plans could draw support away from a proposal by House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas.
