Hurricane forecasters encourage caution as peak season arrives

The Atlantic hurricane season has had no hurricanes and only eight tropical storms, but the typical peak of the season has arrived. September usually is the busiest month for hurricanes, averaging 2.1 annually, according to Risk Management Solutions. RMS said that a major hurricane could still result from a change in wind shear as sea-surface temperatures remain warm.
