Iowa city council, insurer end fight over landfill-fire payout

Iowa City, Iowa, and its insurer will each pay about half of the $3.4 million cost of a fire at a landfill last year. The City Council had pursued a payout from the insurer for the entire cost after initially receiving $154,708. City Manager Tom Markus says officials are seeking a policy that covers the landfill.
