L.A. Times takes aim at sugar policies

The current laws subsidizing sugar farmers "epitomize everything that's wrong with U.S. farm programs," writes the editorial board of the Los Angeles Times. "The unusually high farm profits in recent years have given Congress a golden opportunity to try to wean agribusiness from federal subsidies and market-distorting protections," it argues.
