Preventive health services with no deductible will not disqualify high-deductible health plans

The Internal Revenue Service clarified Monday that high-deductible health plans can offer preventive services without a deductible and not jeopardize their high-deductible health plan status. Under the Affordable Care Act, group health plans and health insurance providers are prohibited from charging a deductible for preventive health care services. Monday's notice clarifies what preventive health services will not disqualify a high-deductible plan.
