In a move that could position Twitter as a middleman in mobile ad sales, the social network has acquired MoPub, a service that automates the buying and selling of mobile ads. The acquisition builds on Twitter's recent focus in the mobile-device field, which already generates the majority of its revenue. "It's actually a great extension of what we've already been doing," said Kevin Weil, vice president of revenue products at Twitter.
