New York reports no violent schools in state

Yesterday, the New York State Education Department announced that due to a decline in the number of incidents involving weapons, no schools in the state are "persistently dangerous." Because the assessment doesn't factor in assaults and other violent incidents, the head of the City Council's Education committee urged the state to instead use more realistic criteria.
