Key senator asks carriers about text rates

Sprint Nextel, AT&T and Verizon Wireless said they would respond to a letter from the chairman of a Senate antitrust panel about text-message rates. The letter was sent from Sen. Herb Kohl, D-Wis., who requested information on text rates and pricing plans from the four major wireless carriers. T-Mobile USA did not respond to a request for comment.
