North Slope production drops 15% from July to August

Oil production for Alaska's North Slope dropped in August, down 15% from July to an average of 552,114 barrels a day. The decline was attributed to planned maintenance shutdowns at ConocoPhillips Alaska's Alpine field and the 800-mile trans-Alaska pipeline.
