Open networks get star billing at CTIA show

Two keynote addresses will highlight the industry's move to open networks at this week's CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment® in San Francisco as the sector tries to get a handle on how best to monetize a development that has created an avalanche of innovative mobile applications. Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam and Dan Hesse, his Sprint Nextel counterpart, will deliver the speeches at a show that will also highlight mobile video and content as well as the potential effect of advertising and location-based applications in the consumer market.
