Storms to make landfall in record numbers, says risk modeler

Storm activity in the Atlantic and the likelihood they'll make landfall in the U.S. this year is 150% above the norm, according to a London-based risk forecasting consortium. Of particular note is the expectation there will be 18 tropical storms in the Atlantic, "with 10 of these being hurricanes and five of these being intense hurricanes." There have been three intense ones so far and 10 named ones.
