Air plants can decorate indoors or outdoors

Tillandsias, also known as air plants, can serve as indoor decorations when attached to a supporting structure or welcome additions to outdoor gardens. "We've also done them in wreaths and entire walls -- they're incredibly versatile," said Sean Quigley, owner of a landscape design and retail store in San Francisco. Members of the bromeliad family, tillandsias can grow without soil by absorbing moisture and nutrients through the air.
