Chevron secures about $60B in gas deals for Australia LNG project

Chevron has signed gas-export deals worth about $60 billion with three Asian customers for its Gorgon venture in Australia, which is expected to be cleared by the middle of the month. Osaka Gas will purchase 1.375 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas per year within 25 years, while fellow Japanese firm Tokyo Gas will buy 1.1 million metric tons annually. South Korea's GS Caltex will get 0.5 million metric tons each year for as long as 20 years under the agreements, Chevron said.
