Drilling at German geothermal plant may have triggered quake

German officials are reviewing a geothermal energy project after an earthquake shook buildings last month in Landau in der Pfalz. The geothermal plant built by Geox extracts heat energy from the earth through deep drilling, and the company initially denied any connection to the magnitude 2.7 quake. However, the epicenter of the earthquake was located about 500 yards from a drill site at the plant.
