Microsoft's software licensing program still is a complicated headache for many businesses despite recent efforts to streamline the process, according to a report from market research firm Directions on Microsoft. The problem, the report found, is Microsoft isn't motivated to improve the licensing process. "Microsoft doesn't think there's a problem," report co-author Paul DeGroot said. "The money keeps rolling in. ... Microsoft looks at the numbers and the reality is that most customers don't have a choice."
