NATO nations call for UN conference on Afghanistan

Major NATO European member states called on the UN to organize a meeting to reassess the progress of the campaign in Afghanistan and establish time lines for turning over governance to the Afghanistan government. The leaders of France, Germany, Spain and Britain affirmed the conference should take place before the end of the year and after the inauguration of the new government.
