Senate passes Travel Promotion Act

The Senate, by a vote of 79-19, passed the Travel Promotion Act, which creates a nonprofit corporation that will strive to attract more foreign travelers to the U.S. "As the global economy sputters, our visitor industry suffers, and any help the federal government can provide our No. 11 industry would aid our economic recovery," said Sen. Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii.
