How Twitter recruits and hires

While Twitter has a team of in-house recruiters who help find top talent, all employees within the organization actively reach out to recruit anyone they believe would be a great asset, says Oliver Ryan, Twitter's director of recruiting. The company also uses its own product to check out candidates -- looking to see, for example, if the person's tweets are targeted or unfocused.
