OECD lowers G-7 growth forecast to 1.5% for the rest of the year

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development has lowered its forecast for economic growth by the Group of Seven nations in the second part of the year from 1.75% to 1.5%, warning that more stimulus spending may become necessary to avert a longer economic slump. "Recent high-frequency indicators point to a slowdown in the pace of recovery of the world economy that is somewhat more pronounced than previously anticipated," the OECD said.
