Pakistanis rally as UN reassesses needs

The United Nations is in the process of reviewing needs on the ground in Pakistan and will soon revise its international funding appeal beyond the original $460 million requested, Valerie Amos, the UN undersecretary-general for humanitarian affairs, said Thursday during a visit to flood-affected areas. Hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis are reaching out to the 21 million people affected, donating time, providing shelter and collecting food.
