Utah aerospace industry takes off with $100M new ATK plant

ATK Aerospace Systems says it will invest as much as $100 million in a new manufacturing facility in Clearfield, Utah, that will create 802 high-paying jobs over the next 20 years. The facility will be used to make composite frames and engine structures for military and commercial planes. ATK's announcement immediately followed the groundbreaking ceremony for another Utah aerospace development -- a new $19.5 million manufacturing plant being built by Janicki Industries, which will make composite parts intended largely for ATK.
