Vigorous exercise can reduce cardiometabolic risk factors in youths

Canadian researchers looked at 605 9- to 17-year-olds in Alberta and found that doing intense physical activity for seven minutes daily was tied to lower body mass index and waist circumference. The intense activity also was tied to lower blood pressure levels and increased fitness, researchers reported on the website of the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.
