8 research teams to split $17M for DNA sequencing projects

About $17 million from the National Human Genome Research Institute will go to eight research teams working to increase the efficiency of genomic sequencing technologies. Five projects will focus on nanopore-based sequencing, which involves analyzing single DNA molecules fed through a 2-nanometer opening.
