China reports increase of kindergarten, high-school teachers

China is reporting a surge in the number of registered teachers in kindergartens and high schools -- with 163,600 more kindergarten teachers and 38,200 more high-school teachers in classrooms in 2012 over the previous year. In the same time period, however, the country reported fewer primary- and middle-school teachers. Data also show that China's teachers are younger and better educated.
