Energy-efficiency bill to create jobs, bring billions in savings, nonprofit says

The bipartisan energy-efficiency bill proposed by Sens. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., and Rob Portman, R-Ohio, could create up to 174,000 jobs by 2030, according to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy. The measure could also lead to more than $65 billion in energy savings by then, the council says. "The Senate should act quickly to pass this important legislation. The provisions we analyzed have the power to save consumers money, stimulate the economy and protect the environment," said ACEEE Executive Director Steven Nadel.
