Exec calls on senator to strike down 2.3% medical device tax

Orthopaedic Implant Co. President and CEO Itai Nemovicher has called on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., to revoke the 2.3% medical device tax, saying it raises the overall taxes for medtech companies by 29% when applied to their bottom lines. "This tax is draining vitality from our nation's most innovative industry," he said.
