Labor Dept. postpones release of fiduciary rule proposal until after October

The Department of Labor is postponing release of a proposed uniform fiduciary rule for all financial advisers who work on retirement plans, says Phyllis Borzi, assistant secretary for the Employee Benefit Security Administration. The rule is still a priority for the agency, according to Borzi, who says accountability of advisers to clients will be the guiding principle for the proposal.
