Le Maurice's opulent image belies Chef Alain Ducasse's fuss-free cuisine

Despite serving patrons in what chef Alain Ducasse calls "the prettiest dining room in Paris" with tasseled curtains and an ornate painting ceiling, the dishes at Le Meurice Restaurant are low on frills. "We're not going to give you something showy here, we're going to give you flavors, tastes, products, seasoning, cooking. Justice," Ducasse said. "It will be a clear message on the plate so that when you finish the plate it's clear. There is no confusion in tastes. The wow effect is the taste."
