Luxury brands see growth potential in off-price offerings

Luxury retailers including Coach and Nordstrom are adding new outlet stores in a push to win over new customer groups with deep everyday discounts on older items and an increasing inventory of merchandise made especially for the outlet stores. "The full-price customer wants what's hot now, while the factory consumer wants brands but is value/price conscious and is willing to 'wait,' " Coach spokeswoman Andrea Shaw Resnick said.
