PayPal introduces hands-free payments for shoppers

PayPal is launching a device called PayPal Beacon that retailers can use to figure out when shoppers are using PayPal's mobile application when they visit a store. Merchants can then use systems such as Booker or TouchBistro to give customers a "hands-free" payment experience. "This technology is our most significant contribution to date in reinventing the in-store shopping experience," PayPal President David Marcus writes in a blog post.
